Emerging Ensembles

The Emerging Ensembles programme draws on our own experience as a vocal ensemble and our understanding of the challenges new groups face in today’s ever-changing musical landscape. From securing performance opportunities to managing administrative demands and developing a distinctive artistic voice, the programme is designed to support ensembles at a pivotal stage in their journey.

About the programme

The programme supports new and upcoming professional vocal groups in their first few years of development. Over two years, ensembles will receive tailored training, mentoring, and performance opportunities to help establish their artistic identity and build sustainable careers across five key areas:

Rehearsal & Performance

Consort-specific coaching and performance opportunities via our partner festivals, culminating in a showcase with The Gesualdo Six.

Training

Practical sessions in audio editing, concert programming, and research.

Education

Support to design and deliver educational workshops.

New Music

Commissioning support and opportunities to collaborate with living composers.

Business & Careers

Industry insight into areas such as social media, marketing, fundraising and financial planning.

“It was an absolute privilege both to share the stage with you all and to learn so much from our masterclass. That was an experience we will cherish for an incredibly long time!”

Harry Mobbs, Co-Director of The Mancunium Consort
