We are looking to appoint a second tenor, ideally beginning the role in September 2027.
We’d love to work with somebody who enjoys consort music-making, and feels comfortable sharing their passion with others, particularly the next generation of young singers.
In the 2026-27 season, the group will give around 90 performances, record an album with Hyperion, and tour North America, Japan and Europe. We are currently Associate Artists at Wigmore Hall, and will also tour two pieces of Concert Theatre, Secret Byrd & Death of Gesualdo.
Audition Timeline
Stage 1: Please email a CV and short covering letter detailing your experience to date and why you would be a good fit for this role to our Operations Manager, Hannah Pinney by Wednesday 2 December 2026. Please indicate in your letter if you are unavailable for any of the dates listed below, and we will endeavour to find another opportunity.
Stage 2: We will contact applicants by 9 December 2026 to confirm whether you have an audition.
Stage 3: First round auditions will take place on 6 & 7 January 2027 in London.
Stage 4: Selected candidates may be invited back for a second round of auditions on 17 & 18 January 2027 in London.
Stage 5: At the final round, on the afternoon of 21 January 2027 candidates will rehearse in the afternoon before auditioning in front of an invited audience.
Stage 6: Applicants will be notified of the outcome in early February 2027.
What to expect at your audition?
First round auditions will last approximately 25 minutes, during which you will rehearse a selection of pieces with us. The music chosen will be a sample of our current repertoire, and will be sent in advance so you have time to prepare.
