The Gesualdo Six announce the launch of their new Emerging Ensembles programme

Owain Park and The Gesualdo Six are delighted to announce the launch of their Emerging Ensembles programme, a new initiative designed to support UK-based vocal ensembles at an early stage of their development.

The two-year programme, commencing in September 2026, offers a package of artistic and professional support for ensembles at a pivotal stage of their growth. It has been designed to help ensembles realise their musical potential while developing a strong artistic identity, expanding their professional networks, and gaining the tools needed to build sustainable careers.

Selected ensembles will benefit from consort-specific training and mentoring with The Gesualdo Six and other leading industry professionals, alongside performance opportunities with partner venues and festivals. There will also be training in recording and editing, concert programming and research, as well as support to design and deliver educational workshops. The practical and logistical aspects of working as a professional ensemble will also be considered with sessions on social media, marketing, fundraising, and financial planning.

The programme also includes two major collaborative elements: a partnership with the National Centre for Early Music (NCEM), which will act as the programme’s hub in the North of England, and a residency at The Music Summer School and Festival in Norfolk, offering further performance, development, and networking opportunities.

Director of The Gesualdo Six, Owain Park, said “We have designed our Emerging Ensembles programme to support vocal consorts in all aspects of their professional and artistic development. We are looking for an ensemble, early in their career, who enjoy singing together. If you have energy and ambition, we want to share what we have learnt to make your next steps a success.

Applications are now open for the inaugural Emerging Ensembles programme and will close on the 8th of March. To find out more information on the programme and application details, click below:
